How this service can help me?

Our service will help you significantly reduce cost of calls from your inmate. You will get from us a land-line number, which is cheaper for your inmate to dial. The number will ring on your mobile - any time, anywhere.

How much can the inmate save with your service on a single phone call?

Calls to mobile number from most of the prisons is in the range of 25p-50p per minute (depends on the time of the day). However, to call a landline, calls can cost as little as 10p a minute. During one 10min call the prisoner can save £4!

How to start getting calls via PrisonTele service?

To receive calls from your inmate you must first:
Give the PrisonTele number to the inmate (in a letter/email, during a visit, on the phone);
Tell to register the PrisonTele phone number on a PIN list;
When an inmate calls you on the PrisonTele local number the call will be connected directly to your mobile number which you have selected to receive your calls on.

Is the prisoner charged to call my PrisonTele local number number?

Yes, the prisoner credit is used however due to the fact PrisonTele number is a landline number, the overall cost of the call is much lower compared to the rate from inside the prison to your mobile directly.

Do I still need to deal with the prison's phone account?

Yes, you do. PrisonTele allows you to speak at the lowest rate, but doesn’t replace the prison phone line itself.

Can I get an additional number for someone to let him/her use the service as well?

Absolutely! You can add more numbers to your account. Please note each additional number will cost you small monthly fee according to the current pricing.

Do I have to register the number on the prison PIN list?

Yes, you have to tell your inmate to register new PrisonTele number on his/her PIN list as any other number he/she wants to dial.

What if I change my mobile number?

Just contact our support team to change the configuration of your PrisonTele number and start receiving calls on your new number.

What if my inmate will be moved to a different prison?

This will not affect the service at all. He/she can still call the same PrisonTele number to reach you on your mobile.

How do I know how many minutes are left on my account?

PrisonTele is offering unlimited plan so you can talk for as long as you need. Your plan expiration date is visible for you in the web portal.

How do I cancel the service?

Your account will be automatically closed in case you don't extend your plan. You can also ask our team to close your account with immediately effect at any time.

I do not live in UK and do not have a UK mobile or landline number. Can I still use your service?

Our unlimited plan can be used only with UK mobile number forwarding however we have other options for you as well. Please contact us to get more details.

What are the available payment methods?

You can use credit/debit card to pay for PrisonTele sign-up and top-up.
